The biggest tourist draw in Quebec City
for us was old town.
This section of town has buildings from the 16 and 1700's.
I loved how they had planters in almost every window.
This reminded me of Europe, especially Venice.
Very pretty.
We thought this address was cute!
Especially considering the addresses in Harry Potter!
I just had to click a picture.
Everything was decorated so cleverly.
The entire old town of Quebec was enclosed by ramparts.
Lincoln and I walked around the wall, mostly on top of the wall.
I think it was four miles of wall.
I took this picture to remember THIS restroom.
With all the talk about men and women,
boys and girls being able to use the same bathroom.
I was shocked and amazed to find that all sexes,
both young and old were ALL using the same restroom.
We HAD to use the restroom,
and did,
but it was odd to say the least.
Thankfully there were no urinals!!!
Neat old homes.
Street Decor.
This was an underground room . . . .
probably was for something to do with the military in days of old.
There were a bunch of local crafters in there.
We bought Ariana a homemade apron here.
More street decor.
This is a painting on the side of a building.
Supposedly a famous painting.
It was pretty neat.
Another view of the painting.
And another view.
The painting again.
There were street performers every day.
This hotel is the main attraction of the city.
It morphs everything around it.
It is called the Chateau Frontenac.
Built in the 1600's.
Pretty impressive.
A picture from Google:
(you can see the city wall that we walked in the foreground)
A section of the walkway around the city.
Very picturesque.
The St. Lawrence River
the "Fleuve Saint-Laurent"
More of the walk around the city wall.
Just outside the Citadel.
(A military installation)
One of the gates into the city.
We ate here:
The street cafe's were so quaint!
This is one we ate at.
Our table didn't have an umbrella and we needed one.
It rained HARD, just as we were finishing eating.
It's a good thing we brought our own umbrella!
Mmmmmmm gooooooood.
Wow. I had no idea that Quebec City was so pretty. Makes me want to go there!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures! It really does remind me a bit of some places in Europe. That hotel looks so cool!
