Industry

Today we have been working pretty hard on the house because we have someone coming to look at it tomorrow. It'd be pretty weird if they liked the house...... Weird because they are the only ones to look at it. If they don't like it we will list the house with a realtor and paint like demons over the weekend.

Today was timecard day at work. After I did my timecard I went in to look at my paychecks online. A month and a half ago...... Mid May I had a paycheck that said I got paid zero dollars!?!?!. I called HR to see what happened. I guess I didn't fill out a timecard for that two week period! I didn't even notice that I hadn't gotten paid! The lady that helped me was incredulous...... You didn't notice? She said. And was even more surprised when I told her, after she asked, that I had 80 hours that I needed to be paid for! My paycheck will be twice the size this next time...... And I'd better keep a closer eye on things in the future. Lol

One redeemed

Ha! I got a call from son number one wishing me a happy birthday. That was nice. Son number three has been in contact today and yesterday for me to help him with school homework, which it is nice to help him.... but he doesn't remember, but he is busy I know. Ah well......I talked to a guy today who doesn't even know when his mom's birthday is...... His mom! Amazing to me.
We got more stuff done tonight in the house. Got rid of all of Halley's furniture. That helped me to have room to go through other stuff and dejunk some more. Got the front door repainted with a second coat and gave the stairs one coat of paint. The stairs will get one more coat before we leave for work tomorrow. Things are shaping up!
Oh! we also updated our will today. A lot was accomplished!

Happy birthday!

Today is my birthday. It has been a great day. I went to work and the storehouse missionaries, the Wheelers had brought in a humongous apple pie and ice cream. About 10:30 we got together and sang happy birthday to all the June birthdays. Lincoln was wonderful as well. He had roses, a watermelon and dinner for me when I got home. A very good day. As with all days I feel many feelings. Happiness, sadness. With Facebook and work and Lincoln and Halley, I've had close to a hundred people who said happy birthday and the of the most important people have not. My three boys. The best..... The worst..... Same thing happened on mother's day. Makes a person wonder. A mother never forgets her children and I don't forget my mother. I am sad and I am happy.

Fireflies

Tonight Lincoln and I went out and sat in our hot tub. There were fireflies flying around in the yard. This is one novel thing about this area that I love. I floated belly down in the hot tub resting my arms on the side of the hot tub and just watched them. Soaking the sight of them in. It isn't quite late enough in the year for the cicadas to be singing and so all I could hear besides the hot tub jets were the sounds of birds. Very nice.

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

Today I've felt really overwhelmed thinking about all that needs to be accomplished to move. Instead of taking it easy on the Sabbath I went out and bought flowers and plants for the yard and then I cleaned up outside and blew the sidewalks and decks clean. Ironed my work pants, cleaned up the house a bit, delivered some items were sold and sold some more furniture that we have. I'm thinking we are going to have to paint the inside of the house which will make a bunch more to do. Called our renters here and decided that we were going to sell the rental unit as well. Gave them a September first move out date. Called a realtor because for sale by owner just seems too much to do. Wow, what a Sunday. I sat down and cried for a bit. It'll be okay. I just need to try to enjoy the journey.

~ Washington DC, I felt like we were on our dream vacation for 18 years.

Change is in the wind

So much is happening in our lives right now.  After a series of events that make it possible......we have decided after 18 years of living in Maryland to move to our home state of Utah. Everything is in a dither....... Moving, selling our home, dejunking, finding a new job and everything that goes with that. I've gotten off the journaling wagon but am going to hop on it again.
