Yesterday we went and did a few things in DC. Our lasts. We did stuff we've wanted to do and haven't.
We went to the Masonic Temple in Alexandria VA. It is a memorial to George Washington. We saw a lot of parallels of Masons vs. Mormonism. Mostly symbolic things in the temple. All the masons that we saw on paintings had aprons on. They use the compass and square as symbols...... And another thing I noticed was that they have a rainbow club for girls...... And we use a rainbow of values in our church for the girls as well.
We also went to a museum that we hadn't been to before.... Actually two museums. The Hirshhorn..... Modern art and the Smithsonian castle which was the original Smithsonian but now has very little in it except offices.....a cafe and a gift shop..... And a very small exhibit compared to other museums.
We went out to the national mall and laid down on the grass and spent time just absorbing the surroundings. The national mall is on such better condition than our was 18 years ago when we moved here. No comparison. I was appalled the first time I saw it. The grass was dead and it was in disrepair. Now the grass is green and lush and well kept. A nice place too lay down and relax.
A nice day.
Today we took some furniture to Ceci...... She cut my hair and then we got to visit with everyone. The last of those visits as well.
